The Rise of Natural Skincare
December 11, 2020
Consumers are demanding more natural beauty and skincare products a recent report by the Organics Aotearoa New Zealand Group has found.
The popularity of natural products follows a rise in people wanting to have a deeper understanding of the ingredients in products to help them identify and avoid additives or chemicals that may upset their skin.
Some chemical-based skincare products contain synthetic chemicals that can do more harm than good, increasing skin sensitivity and flaring up skin issues such as eczema.
Natural skincare ingredients include organically grown fruits, vegetables, and sustainably sourced animal products such as collagen, that contain high levels of antioxidants, vitamins or amino acids that are beneficial for your skin.
Our ActivLayr facemasks focus on five simple, yet incredibly powerful, natural ingredients – from kiwifruit and grapeseed extract to sustainably sourced NZ marine collagen and hyaluronic acid. These are ingredients that customers can easily recognise and understand.
Natural ingredients can be safer for some people as they are free from synthetic chemicals, alcohols, and other irritants, while also causing less environmental damage than synthetic ingredients.
However, not all-natural skincare products are equal. When choosing a product, it’s important to make sure it contains extracts with high levels of antioxidants or actives from sustainable sources that are scientifically proven to be both beneficial and safe for your skin.
